Criminal law and criminal procedure

Criminal law is the firm's principal area of practice. We act both for those under investigation or on trial and for victims of crime, who may join the criminal proceedings as civil parties to claim compensation.

From investigation to trial

The most important decisions are often taken before the trial: during the preliminary investigation, at interview, when considering an alternative procedure. That is why it is best to consult a lawyer as soon as you receive a formal notice — an invitation to elect an address for service, a notice of conclusion of the investigation — rather than on the eve of a hearing.

The firm acts at every level of jurisdiction, including the Court of Cassation, and in precautionary and enforcement proceedings.

Business, tax and insolvency

Part of our work concerns offences arising in the life of a business: corporate and tax offences, fraudulent bankruptcy and insolvency offences, corporate liability. In these matters the defence requires the criminal, civil and accounting aspects to be read together, often with the support of expert consultants.

Minors

The firm also handles proceedings before the Juvenile Court, where the process has its own rules and aims, directed at the rehabilitation of the young person.
